Carlyle staple destroyed in Monday night fire

Ogy’s hamburger stand, just outside the White Bear Resort, was destroyed by a fire late Monday night.

Carlyle and RM #63 Fire and Rescue received the call just after midnight.

RCMP was on the scene shortly after midnight to alert the person sleeping on the property.

White Bear Resort was experiencing power outages at the time of the fire, and thunder and lightning were present, but the cause of the fire is still unknown.

The fire is believed to have started in the original building, once known as the James Bay Inn. No damage was caused to any adjacent structures like the mini-golf course and an ice cream stand, but the building is believed to be a total loss.

No injuries were reported.
