Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings are in effect for much of northeast Saskatchewan Thursday afternoon.

Warnings were issued Hudson Bay and Pelican Narrows, as well as their surrounding areas.

Communities such as La Ronge and Prince Albert National Park are under a watch.

There is also a thunderstorm watch issued for La Loche and it’s surrounding area.

Environment Canada says the storm cell coming to the area Thursday could develop severe thunderstorms producing strong wind gusts and hail.

The weather agency is advising residents to stay tuned for forecasts and weather updates from Environment Canada.
