Yesterday afternoon I had an appointment to see my doctor for a simple procedure with liquid nitrogen that would take a grand total of no more than two minutes. Taking into account the usual time sitting in the waiting room, I was fully expecting that two minutes with the doctor to turn into at least an hour long ordeal. I was very, very wrong.

I arrived at his office and checked in about 10 minutes early. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed there were only 5 other people in the waiting area, not that fewer people guarantees a quicker visit. I’ve seen less people than that before and still had to wait an hour!

I grabbed a seat and mentally prepared myself for at least an hour wait. By the time my name was called there were only two of us left. Considering the other person waiting was a woman, I was pretty sure I was the only one who would answer when a lady finally came out and called for James. Man, I hate that name. The only time I ever heard it growing up was when I was in trouble with my mom. But, I didn’t really care. “James” was good enough for me. I got up and followed her to the office where I would await the arrival of my doctor. I was in the waiting area less than 5 minutes!

Less than five minutes after that, my doctor showed up. We exchanged our usual pleasantries and a couple of laughs. After that it was down to business.

A couple of minutes later I was on my way to my vehicle to head home. My appointment was scheduled for 2:15 and It wasn’t even 2:30 yet! That had to be some kind of a record!

Gotta love those appointments!
