How important is a white Christmas to you?

I’m just taking a look at the forecast for the next seven days and it looks very favourable for Christmas. According to Environment Canada some areas of the province might be experiencing a brown Christmas this year thanks to a jet stream that’s pushing cold air to the north and east and allowing milder air to reach our little piece of heaven. While this is great for those of you traveling to family and friends in the coming days, it just doesn’t seem like Christmas when there is little to no snow.

I’m one of those cheesy Christmas guys that MUST have snow on the ground or, at least, falling to the ground to get into the Christmas mood. In other words, I love a White Christmas. I have lived through one or two brown Christmas so far and it just didn’t seem right especially when you grow up in southeastern Saskatchewan. You’re supposed to have snow on December 25th! I would be horrible on vacation in a warm, tropical place over the Christmas week. White sand simply can’t substitute for white snow on Christmas Day.  I feel so fortunate to live in Canada where we can experience a white Christmas just like in the movies. It never gets old!

There are many that would have no problem jetting away from the snow and cold and spending Christmas on the beach, and it does sound nice no question about it. Kudos to those who can endure a hot, brown, snow-free Christmas, but not this guy. I could on Boxing Day though! Once Christmas Day is out of the way, off to Cuba for a beautiful stay! It rhymes well and it’s 100 per cent true.

Whether you’re enjoying a white Christmas or sitting on a patio overlooking a snow free spot, enjoy your time and safe travels!
