Saskatchewan’s population reaches 1,178,657

Saskatchewan continues to break population records, as the province has announced the population has now grown to an all-time high 1,178,657.

The population grew by over 4,000 people in the third quarter this year, marking the 54th consecutive quarter of population growth.

In a news release, Jeremy Harrison says the province is experiencing the strongest period of sustained growth since the 1920’s, and since 2007, Saskatchewan has gained nearly 170,000 people.
Premier Scott Moe announced last month a plan to increase the population to 1.4 million people by 2030 while adding 100,000 jobs in the new Growth Plan.
