Police looking for man after 79-year-old woman assaulted behind north Regina gas station

A 79-year-old woman was taken to hospital Thursday morning, after what police are calling a serious assault in north Regina.

Police were called to a gas station on the 500 block of Albert Street North just before 7:00 a.m.

Early investigations determined the woman had left a restaurant in the area, and was then assaulted behind the gas station by a tall man, she was transported to hospital by EMS, her condition at this time is not known.

The suspect is described only as six feet tall and wearing black clothing at the time of the assault.

He did not speak to the victim, but it’s believed he struck her in the head with something he was carrying.

The suspect ran from the scene in a southwest direction.
