A 23-year-old man on remand died at the Regina Correctional Centre Saturday.
The inmate was found unresponsive in his cell. Corrections staff and EMS tried life saving measures but he was declared dead at 7:17 a.m.
The RCMP and the Coroner’s Service are investigating.
The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety will be conducting an internal investigation.
Foul play is not suspected and the man’s name hasn’t been released.
