Dolly Parton opened “Dollywood” on this day in 1986. Coincidentally, She recorded her song number one song “Love is Like a Butterfly” on this day in 1974
Ricky Van Shelton’s “Backroads” was certified gold 29 years ago today.
“Somewhere Down in Texas” from George Strait reached number one on the country albums chart on this day in 2005. It contained his 40th number one song, “She Let herself Go.”
And Jake Owen’s single “Beachin’” was officially certified platinum on this day in 2014. He’s pictured above at Country Thunder Saskatchewan 2019.
