CFL’s decision to use Winnipeg as hub city disappoints Premier Moe

On Tuesday afternoon, Premier Scott Moe was talking about the Saskatchewan Roughriders bid to become a CFL hub city in 2020 and which he preached the positives and negatives of such a bid when word came down that the league was going with Winnipeg.

With a snap of his fingers and a shake of his head, Moe expressed his disappointment that a shortened season, if one happens at all, will not be played at Mosaic Stadium.

“We wanted to host this here in Regina, not just because we love our football team and we love the CFL, but we most certainly felt that there was an economic impact that the City of Regina would use so we’re disappointed that it’s been awarded to Winnipeg.” Moe said. “”If we have to go to Winnipeg to get our Grey Cup, we’ll do that.”
