Moe hopes Wednesday’s COVID-19 numbers make people pay attention

The province has a new record high when it comes to COVID-19 cases in one day.

On Wednesday, 60 new cases were announced with 48 of them coming from colonies in the southwest and west-central parts of the province and 43 of those being located in a single colony in the RM of Lawtonia.

Premier Scott Moe says the sobering numbers are ones you should take note of.

“This is a serious day for all of us in  the province.” Moe said at the Legislature Wednesday. “It’s a day for us just to remember COVID-19 is not gone, it is here and if we let our guard down just for a moment it will spread.”

Moe says the government is working with leaders of all affected communities where there are a high number of cases to enact further restrictions on all non-essential travel into and out of their communities.

There are 190 active cases in Saskatchewan and with 12 more recoveries announced Wednesday, the provincial total is now 825.
