Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for a portion of western Saskatchewan for Friday afternoon.
Swift Current and area are under a watch, while the Kindersley-Rosetown area is under a warning.
Meteorologists with the weather agency say the storm is capable of producing nickel sized hail and heavy rain.
Special weather statements are also in place for a section of northern Saskatchewan. Environment Canada says a system bringing heavy rain is tracking over the northern portion of the province, adding 20-30 mm of rain could be possible in a short period of time.
A heat warning is still in place for Pelican Narrows and area as well.
