The “Golden Sheaf” awards from this years Yorkton Film Festival are being shipped out to the winners.
Festival executive director Randy Goulden says there was a change this year in where the awards were made.
“For the first time in 73 years, the ‘Golden Sheaf’ awards — which symbolizes a wheat sheaf — are made right here in Saskatchewan in the community of Pense,” Goulden said. “At the same foundry that made all of Joe Fafard’s beautiful bronze sculptures that he did throughout his great artistic career.”

Prior to this year, the awards had been made in Winnipeg.
Goulden says all 29 awards were sent to the winners across Canada by post on Friday.
