Heat Warnings issued across much of Saskatchewan

With daytime highs in the low to mid 30’s and overnight lows at or above 16 C, Environment Canada has issued Heat Warnings for most of western Saskatchewan and a portion of the north.

The warning does not include Regina, Saskatoon or Moose Jaw, however hot temperatures are still expected in those areas as well, with Regina’s forecast calling for highs in the low 30’s or high 20’s right until mid next week.

The weather office is reminding everyone to watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.

Please call HealthLine 811 for advice on health risks, symptoms and precautions associated with heat.
