Sloan Stanick’s days with the Regina Pats are no more.
The 18-year-old forward out of Rapid City, Manitoba has been traded to the Prince Albert Raiders for 18-year-old defenceman Adam McNutt.
Stanick had appeared in five games this season, scoring twice and adding two assists. He was drafted by the Everett Silvertips in the seventh round of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft and was traded to the Pats as part of a deal to send Robbie Holmes to the Silvertips in the 2018-19 season.
In his career with the Pats, Stanick played in 78 games — including all 24 during the WHL hub this spring — scoring five goals and adding nine assists in those games.
McNutt — who is from Saskatoon — is in his second season of junior hockey, and has appeared in four games for the Raiders so far this season.
In his career with the Raiders, he has scored one goal and added three assists in 26 career games.
“We are getting a right shot defenceman who plays a physical game,” said Regina Pats GM John Paddock said in a news release. “We look forward to him joining our organization.”
The Pats are getting set to play a home-and-home weekend set against the Winnipeg ICE this weekend, starting with a 7:00 PM puck drop at the Brandt Centre on Friday night.
