The province today announced a $400,000 Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls+ community response fund.
The fund will provide support for projects that promote and enhance prevention for Indigenous women, girls and 2 spirit plus people.
Funding will support at least 10 community projects, with each receiving up to $40,000.
“We are proud to work collaboratively with Indigenous women, who know first-hand how these projects can help enhance prevention and build safety. I thank them for their valuable contributions on this important work,” Minister Responsible for First Nations, Metis and Northern Affairs Don McMorris said in a media release.
The fund criteria and supporting documents were developed with input from four Indigenous women.
Intake deadline for applications is December 16, 2022.
