Wadena RCMP responded to a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Highway #5 about 10 kilometres west of Wadena that resulted in the death of a seven-year-old girl.
The driver reportedly remained at the scene and called emergency assistance after the collision took place, with Wadena Fire and EMS crews also responding.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified. The highway was closed for about five hours while RCMP investigated.
No charges have been laid at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Wadena is 207 kilometres northwest of Regina.
