Head coach John Paddock says that Valis talents were on display Wednesday night.
“He’s got a lot of talent, he can shoot the puck, he’s playing with players that will get him the puck, and he’ll get them the puck, it’s a real building block for him this season.”
Paddock added that it was important for the Pats to have a solid contribution from Whitehead.
“We know he is a smart intelligent player, he’s in a lot of different situations, he’s a compliment guy, he can be the checker on a line, makes plays as the season goes on and gets some points, he’s a vital player to our team.”
Whitehead was relieved to score his first goal of the season.
“It feels great, it took long enough obviously, it was exciting, it was kind of a shock, I didn’t realize it happened until everybody came and hugged me.”
