Roughriders announce three-year MVP season ticket renewal package

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced season ticket options for the 2021 CFL season and beyond on Thursday.

With the status of next year still very much up in the air, contingencies were also announced.

In an email to season ticket holders the team revealed a number of options.

In the email it said that if the season is changed again due to health measures surrounding COVID-19 a full refund or an automatic account credit will be given to season ticket holders.

At the same time if an individuals situation changes during the season and they can no longer be a season ticket holder, an account credit will be issued or a complete refund for the remaining games will be available upon notifying the team of the situation.

The team also announced something called the MVP plan, which will be for fans who commit to three seasons.

Riders President and CEO Craig Reynolds was on the SportsCage Thursday, and said the reason behind the MVP plan was all about giving back to a loyal fan-base.

“We thought we should reward that, so we came up with this MVP plan where if you commit to three seasons all the way to 2023, you’re guaranteed early bird pricing, lots of payment plans will be available as well and you get some neat perks before each season,” Reynolds said.

Those perks include a free jersey worth around $200, discounts on Grey Cup tickets for the 2022 game at Mosaic Stadium and a free game in the third year of the package.

Reynolds said a three year plan is something the team has never done before.

“This was something we challenged the team on, was just to think about how do we get to a multi-year renewal deal and then what sort of perks can we offer those that commit to the club for that period of time, and like I said lots of fans renew annually and this was a way to give back,” Reynolds said.

New season tickets will go on sale November 16th at 10:00 a.m. and will still be at the same price level as 2020, despite  the Riders announcing a projected loss of $10-million thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent cancellation of the 2020 CFL season.

Early bird pricing will be $929.06 for adults, $929.06 for seniors, and $838.86 for youth and accessible seating in the Gold range. Silver seating will cost $784.74 for adults and $694.54 for seniors, youth and accessible. Bronze seating will go for $631.40 for adults and $541.20 for youth seniors and accessible. Green seating prices will be $505.12 for adults and $414.92 for seniors, and accessible and $252.56 for youth 3-14. Black and family will be $392.37 for adults and $320.21 for youth, seniors and accessible. Finally White seating will cost $311.19 for adults and $239.03 for seniors, youths and accessible. Platinum seating is not priced differently for early bird buyers and will be $1,925 or $1,375 depending on ticket type and stadium location.
