Along with the awareness of mental health, there will be several unique activities available for fans thanks to Brandt.

  • A 50/50 jackpot, seeded by Brandt that starts at $50,000, with half of the total monies raised going to CMHA Regina
  • Thundersticks available for free at the door, compliments of Brandt
  • A CMHA-run kiosk for fans to learn more about CMHA mental health resources available
  • A raffle draw for a chance to win a team-signed jersey, with all monies raised going to CMHA Regina
  • Videos featuring Pats players speaking about the importance of mental health.

Talk Today has become one of the most comprehensive mental health programs for amateur sports in Canada. Its aim is to promote the mental health of young athletes and to spread awareness about the benefits of positive mental health throughout communities across the country.

Approximately one in five youths struggle with mental health. In Canada, suicide is the second-leading cause of death among youth and young adults between 15-34 years. Unfortunately, because of the stigma and discrimination that surround mental health issues, many don’t seek the help they need when they need it most. This Talk Today event aims to combat stigma by starting a conversation around mental health and encouraging people to seek help when they need it.

The Pats host the Medicine Hat Tigers with a 4:00 pm faceoff on Sunday afternoon. Coverage on 620 CKRM will begin at 3:35.
