Ottawa and reaches agreement with two pharmaceutical giants to receive COVID-19 vaccine

The government has reached deals with two major companies to make sure Canada gets access to COVID-19 vaccines being developed.

The contracts are with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and American-based biotech firm Moderna, which both started Phase 3 clinical trials of their vaccine candidates last week.

The government says the deals will let Canada procure millions of doses of their experimental COVID-19 vaccines.
