The Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. (REAL) announced that it has achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation, the highest honor for prepared facilities. Working along side the GBAC, a division of the ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, REAL has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention within all of its campus facilities.
President and CEO of REAL Tim Reid says “THE GBAC STAR accreditation was the highest level of compliance that existed so we wanted to be able share this to our customers that you know when you come to our facilities anywhere our cleaning practices will be to the highest level of standard.”
To achieve the GBAC STAR accreditation, REAL was required to demonstrate compliance with program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.
Reid noted that the GBAC STAR accreditation “It’s a compliance standard that happens not only across Canada and North America but is really a global standard, as we reopen large public venues, large crowds , and gathering places.”
Reid encourages anyone that has questions about the GBAC STAR accreditation at their website www.gbac.org
