Masks to be made mandatory at Canadian Walmart outlets

As of Wednesday, Aug. 12, masks will be mandatory for customers of all Walmart locations in Saskatchewan and across Canada.

In an e-mail, the company says this will be in effect for all customers and workers at all locations even there is not a government mandate to wear a mask or some other form of face covering already in place.

The company adds the move is being made to “bring more consistency across our store network” and to “ensure the well-being of our customers and associates.”

The e-mail goes on to say it is hoped customers will respect and follow this policy and  that they will bring their own face coverings when they shop.

Walmart had already mandated masks at all of its U.S. stores in April.
