Regina City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, where it’s expected COVID-19 proof of vaccination requirements will be expanded to include all City locations, other than libraries and the Transit Information Centre located in the Cornwall Centre.
Currently proof of vaccination or a negative test is required at the following City facilities:
• At major recreation centres for visitors over the age of 12 (except for youth, under 18,
participating in sport or recreational activities)
• At community centres for fitness activities
• At City Hall to access the cafeteria
• At arenas for ticketed sporting events (a sporting event is considered “ticketed” only if the
GST has been charged on the price of the ticket)
The City says it is looking at the expansion because of the “current situation affecting our healthcare system and the high risk of COVID-19 transmission being uncontrolled across Saskatchewan”.
On Sunday 236 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Saskatchewan, 38 of those were in the Regina zone.
There are currently 285 people in hospitals around Saskatchewan with COVID-19, that includes 74 in ICUs.
In the Regina zone 473 cases are currently considered active.
