The Saskatchewan government was forced to cancel outdoor ceremonies marking the opening of a new legislative session on Wednesday due to what they say is “recent threats”
In a release issued by the government about 30 minutes before the ceremonies were to begin, it said “”In light of recent threats and on the advice of security officials, the outdoor portion of the planned ceremonies this afternoon with His Honour and Premier Moe has been cancelled,”
Premier Moe and Lt. Gov Russell Mirasty were to take part in the ceremonies.

The rally outside the legislature featured a brief address from independent MLA Nadine Wilson. She was ousted from the Saskatchewan Party caucus last month after it was revealed she was not vaccinated.
