Blowing Snow Advisory Continues

While we will technically be in what is referred to as “meteorological winter” in just a few days on December 1st, the widely accepted first day of winter occurs December 21st at the Winter Solstice.

Neither date holds significance on the Saskatchewan prairie as the next week will feel more like the official start of Winter.

Temperatures will be dipping down into the low teens and twenties with the wind chill driving down temperature values, after what was an unseasonably warm November.

Parts of Southern Saskatchewan were under a blowing snow advisory as of Monday morning,  with sections of highway throughout the province being closed due zero visibility conditions.

Please visit the provincial highway hotline ,and stay  tuned to 620 CKRM for current conditions.
