When Regina City Council sits down for its November meeting at the end of the month, there will be five new city councillors along with new mayor Sandra Masters sitting around the table,
One of those newcomers is Shanon Zachidniak as she won the right to serve as councillor in Ward 8 replacing the retired Mike O’Donnell.
Zachidniak says one thing she learned during the campaign is that she actually likes door knocking. She says connecting and listening are two things that are key for her moving forward as she begins a life in civic politics.
“The more you can connect with folks, listen to them, demonstrate that you actually care, and are willing to ask them their concerns, people respect and appreciate that,” said Zachidniak.
Zachidniak is excited to be on a fresh new-looking council saying there is a lot of opportunity to make some much needed change in the community.
