COVID-19 causing more problems in Indian Head

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is telling people in the town of Indian Head about an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The SHA says because of the increase, people should be keeping their “bubble” small, limit contact with others, stay home with sick and get tested if they develop symptoms.

The increased cases means the SHA is also restricting visitors to the long-term care homes in the town along with the hospital with visitors only being allowed inside for compassionate reasons.

In addition, the town’s elementary school and high school have seen a number of students being told to self-isolate so a decision has been made by the Prairie Valley School Division to shut the doors at both for two weeks meaning in-person classes will not resume until November 30.

Outbreaks had already been declared at the Golden Prairie Nursing Home and the town’s bakery, but it is not known if the two are connected at this time.

Indian Head is about 45 minutes east of Regina on the Trans-Canada Highway.
