Tigers storm back with four goals to defeat Pats 6-4

 

The Medicine Hat Tiger four unanswered goals in the third period were the difference on Sunday as they defeated the Regina Pats 6-4 at the Brandt Centre.

Connor Bedard recorded his fifth hat trick of the season for the Pats. He added an assist in the loss. Zane Rowan also scored.

Regina was leading 4-2 heading into the final period before the Tigers rallied to pick up the win.

Assistant coach, Brad Herauf said they were rusty coming off a week long break and the Tigers were consistent all night.

“We knew what to expect and they came all night at us.”

Medicine Hat dominated the shot clock in the third period 23-5. Overall they led 39-25.

Drew Sim made 33 saves for Regina.

With the win over the Pats, the Tigers gain some valuable ground for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Medicine Hat is now tied with Regina with 45 points. The Pats have played three less games than the Tigers.

On Tuesday, the Pats will kick off an Alberta road trip in Red Deer.
