WHL launches T’s for Toys campaign

With teams unable to host their annual teddy bear and toque toss games this upcoming holiday season, the WHL has launched the T’s for Toys campaign.

Team mascot t-shirts are for sale for $20 each, with seven of those dollars going to community charities to spend on toys for children this holiday season.

In Regina, the Pats have teamed up with the Eagle Heart Centre.

The team’s COO Stacey Cattell says they chose an organization that they have a great relationship with.

“How we got connected to Eagle Heart (Centre) is with our fabulous and deep relationship with our First Nations communities, not just in Regina but also the surrounding area,” Cattell said.

“Hockey is an important thing in our First Nations communities and we over the last number of years have been growing those relationships,” Cattell added.

Cattell said the Eagle Heart Centre is located in north central Regina, and is a community-based organization which provides services to support and empower families, children and youth to attain a healthy lifestyle.
