Retail sales in Saskatchewan after pandemic shutdown

Retail sales in Saskatchewan increased 7.9 percent in June, compared to the same time last year.

The increase is the third-highest percentage increase in the country and is more than double the 3.8 percent increase posted for Canada.

Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison says that these numbers highlight the strong position that the province is in compared to other jurisdictions, adding it shows that Saskatchewan remains a great place to do business.

The jump in retail-trade in the province from May to June 2020 was 15.6 percent.

Total value of retail trade in June was over $1.7 billion
