It wasn’t the conclusion the Regina Pats were looking for to end their U.S. Division road swing Saturday night in Spokane.
The Chiefs scored four goals in the third period to win 6-2 over the Pats.
Logan Nijhoff scored in the second period on a Pats power play to cut Spokane’s lead to 2-1 before the Chiefs filled the net in the last period of play. Zack Smith scored Regina’s second goal of the night with a handful of minutes left in regulation.
Donovan Buskey stared the game for the Pats and played just over 44 minutes before he was pulled, providing 22 saves on 27 shots. Danton Belluk allowed one goal on 13 shots in relief.
Regina ends their road trip with one win in five games.
They’re back on the ice Friday at the Brandt Centre against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
