Sask Health Authority shuts down Kenosee Superslides

A popular summertime attraction in the province’s southeast corner has been shut down by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The Kenosee Superslides were directed by the SHA to shut down its operation Thursday night.

In a statement, the SHA says “The Saskatchewan Health Authority has cancelled the operational license for The Super Slides, located at Moose Mountain Provincial Park. Notice of the cancellation was provided to the owner on Thursday and outlines the public health and safety reasons for the decision, as well as information about appealing the decision.”

The decision is not going over well with the business with Superslides spokesperson Jan Armstrong saying the SHA’s reasoning behind the move is based on the slides being deemed unsafe for use which he strongly denies.

Due to COVID-19, the slides only opened in late July.
