Grain prices have reached record highs due to widespread prairie drought.
This week durum achieved $20.00 a bushel before falling back to $18.50.
Wheat market analyst Marlene Boersch of Mercantile Consulting says this is a record figure and the largest spread between durum and spring wheat ever seen.
Spring wheat prices are hovering around $10.50 a bushel.
Other high prices include canola at $20.00 a bushel, flax over $22.00 and lentils at almost $28.00 a bushel.
Boersch made her comments on the SaskWheat website.
