CFL allowing fans to have names etched in new Grey Cup display

The Canadian Football League has announced a new way for fans to be involved in the league and with the Grey Cup.

The CFL  announced the Grey Cup Fan Base — a permanent four-feet high base where the Grey Cup will be displayed at all public appearances. It is made from Canadian maple and aluminum.

The Fan Base does not use any team colours. It has 10 pillars on each side (one for each CFL team and one for Atlantic Canada), and pillars of various heights to show diversity.

CFL season ticket holders will have the first chance to have their names etched into this new base for $349 for a limited time until August 30. Other fans will have that same opportunity starting August 31 for $399.

Fans who purchase this will also receive a digital collectors’ item certificate of authenticity, an augmented reality displaying the Gray Cup Fan Base digitally in your home for fans to share with friends and family, recognition in their favourite team’s stadium, and a digital experience that allows fans to get up close to the Fan Base.
