The Pats’ four-game winning streak has come to an end.
Regina lost 3-2 Wednesday night to the Red Deer Rebels at home.
The Pats opened the scoring just 3:36 into the first period with a blocker-side shot from Tanner Howe, giving the home side a 1-0 lead.
However, Kai Uchacz eventually tied it up at the 15:01 mark of the first. Less than three minutes later, Shaunavon, SK. product Kalan Lind scored his fourth of the year for the Rebels, giving them a 201 lead heading into the first intermission.
Stanislav Svozil then tied it on the powerplay at the 5:50 mark of the second period. The goal was Svozil’s first career WHL goal.
However, on another Pats powerplay, Talon Brigley broke free on a breakaway and scored a shorthanded goal, giving the Rebels a 3-2 lead.
Despite being outshot 13-6 in the third period, the Rebels were able to hold on for the rest of the way.
The Pats’ next game sees them host the Edmonton Oil Kings Friday night. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM. 620 CKRM will have the game starting with the pregame show beginning at 6:35.
