Snow blankets Regina and other parts of Saskatchewan

Get out the snowshovels and stay off the highway.

A winter storm has hit Saskatchewan with the northeast and east-central parts of the province getting hit the hardest with snowfall warnings out.

In Regina, we have received just under five centimeters of snow.  It is believed the Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale areas will get about twenty centimeters before the system moves out.

Those going out depending on where you are should be checking out the Highway Hotline before heading out.  As it stands right now, roads leading in and out of Regina are reporting winter driving conditions with icy and slippery conditions.

Whether or not the snow sticks around is not known as temperatures will get back above the zero mark on the weekend  with Environment Canada calling for a high on Monday at this time of 10 degrees.
