History repeats itself as the Regina Pats are victorious in their Teddy Bear Toss game

The Regina Pats emerged victorious over the Calgary Hitmen for the franchise’s 26th annual Teddy Bear Toss game.

Hundreds of teddy bears and stuffed animals were thrown onto the ice once Tanner Howe scored the first goal for the Pats at 17:35 in the first period.

The Queen City boys then beat the Hitmen (winning their fourth straight game) 5-2 with Alexander Suzdalev, Tanner Brown, Riley Ginnell, and Layton Feist getting the following goals. Drew Sim also won his sixth straight contest, stopping 38 of 40 shots.

However, the 2022 Teddy Bear Toss events are eerily similar to the 2021 game.

Last year, the Teddy Bear Toss game also fell on December 10 when the Pats took on the Prince Albert Raiders.

Tanner Howe also got the first goal which sparked the flying of the teddy bears in the 2021 game as well.

Also last year, The Pats came out of the Teddy Bear Toss game with a solid win of 5-2 over the Raiders just like they did this year over the Hitmen.

Safe to say that December 10 is the team’s lucky game day for the Teddy Bear Toss.
