People spent a lot of their Thursday searching for their snowshovel and then using it or firing up the snowblower as the eastern part of the province saw a significant snowfall that made highway travel treacherous.

The system has moved out, but the cleanup continues with road conditions starting to improve across the province.

Environment Canada’s Terri Lang says the Meadow Lake region had the most snow with around 25 centimeters (10 inches) coming down while in the Regina region, around eight centimeters was recorded.  She says we could see another couple of centimeters on Saturday as another system will quickly blow through the area.

While many believe this snow will be staying until spring, Lang can’t say that for certain as there will be some more days above zero including Monday when the forecast high is plus six.
