Busy Saturday planned at Evraz Place

It’s going to be a busy day at Evraz Place tomorrow, with events happening throughout the day.

Tomorrow’s schedule will see the Saskatchewan Roughriders play at 1:30 pm, the Regina Pats play at 7:00 pm, a 32 team hockey tournament and a University of Regina Cougars game at the Co-Operators Centre. At the Agribition Building, the ‘Our Best to You Handmade Craft Show’ will be running from 10 am to 6 pm and programming at the Affinity Plex.

With many events, the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) asks the public to plan accordingly and be safe.

“Likely one of the busiest days we’ve gad since the Queen City Ex on Saturday when we had the Rider game as well,” said Mark Rathwell, the manager of communications and public affairs at REAL. “It’s going to be a very busy day, and we just wanted to remind people or let people know that so they can plan accordingly for their travels depending on what they are coming to tomorrow.”

Rathwell said that there would be designated areas for parking, but it will be first-come, first-serve in other areas.

“We have designated parking for the various functions that are going on. For the Riders, people have had to pre-pay for a parking space, so we’ve designated an area for them, the Pats game, there is VIP parking that people pay for, and we’ve designated areas for that. We’ve also designated areas for the Our Best to You Craft Show and also for the Co-Operators and the Affinity Plex.”

Rathwell notes that Elphinstone Street from Saskatchewan Drive to Dewdney Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 11:00 am. People are asked to only enter through the Lewvan Drive Gate unless you are going to the Co-Operators Centre or Affinity Plex, in which you are asked to enter through the Princess Street Gate.
