We have been enjoying temperatures well above normal so far this winter, but get ready for some colder air to come in.
Alysa Pederson with Environment Canada says we have been enjoying the third warmest winter on record to date with the last time it was like this being in 2011-12, but that mild weather is going to leave for a few days and be replaced with weather that is actually normal for this time of year.
“We will be getting down to around minus 15 for a daytime high starting later this week, but when you look at it the average high for this time of year is minus 13.” Pederson said.
While Environment Canada isn’t expecting temperatures to get back around or over the freezing mark anytime soon, Pederson does say that by next week daytime highs will be in the minus 5 neighbourhood.
