Pats begin Alberta road trip in Red Deer

 

The Regina Pats will look for success on the road after they had their four-game winning streak on home ice snapped on Sunday against the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Tonight, the Pats will begin a four-game swing through Alberta in Red Deer, against the Rebels.

Regina finds themselves on the edge of the playoff picture, they’re tied with the Tigers for eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. They trail the Swift Current Broncos by one point for the seventh spot in the East.

Following tonight’s game, the Regiment will head to the southern part of Alberta to close out the the trip. They’ll square off with the Calgary Hitmen, Lethbridge Hurricanes and Tigers before returning to Saskatchewan.

Connor Bedard heads into the contest on a 33-game point streak, he sits on top of the Western Hockey League in goals (42) and points (85). He is also tied with teammate, Stanislav Svozil with 43 assists.

Red Deer enters this evening contest on top of the Central Division, and second overall in the Eastern Conference with 68 points. They are three points behind of the Winnipeg ICE for top spot in the conference. The Rebels last action was against the ICE with Winnipeg picking up a 5-1 win.

This season, the Pats and Rebels split their two previous matchups. Regina earned a home ice victory in their last contest back on November 12. The two teams will finish their season series on March 4 at the Brandt Centre.
