Some special crop grain prices have shown softening in recent weeks.
Allan Johnston operates Johnston’s Grain Marketing at Welwyn.
He says pulses have slipped a little.
He says red lentils were at 30 cents a pound one month ago but have slipped to 25 or 26 cents.
With large green lentils, he says prices were at 38 cents, but the highest right now is around 32 cents.
He says it may be a pre-Christmas lull but Covid-19 means some market uncertainty and there is a lot of volatility.
He adds yellow peas remain strong, at 9 dollars and canaryseed is around 31 cents.
