The Mennonite Disaster Service says more than a dozen loads of hay from Ontario have arrived in Saskatchewan to help drought-stricken farmers.
The vice chair of the disaster service in Saskatchewan, Ike Epp, estimates 12 to 15 truckloads of hay have been donated under the haywest program.
He hopes more loads are coming and efforts are underway in Ontario to seek more donations.
Epp says the hay is sold at pre-drought prices to help cover transportation costs.
He says producers in Saskatchewan are appreciative of the support from Ontario farmers.
A total of 50 farmers in Saskatchewan have applied for donated hay.
