Personal crimes down in July, according to Regina Police

Regina Police saw crimes against people and property decrease in the city in July.

Crimes against property declined 34.7 percent from the same period last year. There have been 3,196 fewer incidents of crimes against property in 2020 compared to 2019.

Crimes against the person was down 2.6 percent in July of this year, compared to last year.

There were 34 less robberies in July, a decrease of 18 percent from last year. 1,707 less reported incidents of theft, and 413 fewer incidents of mischief.

Overall, RPS received 8,603 calls or service in July, a decrease of 9 percent from 2019.
