10th person charged in Tiki Laverdiere murder

A 10th person has been charged in the death of 20-year Tiki Laverdiere.

Back in April of 2019, Laverdiere traveled from Edmonton to North Battleford for a funeral. She then went missing, with her remains being found in a rural area outside of North Battleford.

Since then, nine people have been arrested and charged by RCMP in connection to the death of Laverdiere. The 10th person was arrested in Edmonton on Wednesday on a Canada-wide warrant.

36 year-old Samuel Takakenew has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Takakanew is being transferred to North Battleford, and a court date will be determined at a later date.
