SARM disappointed with industry-led Growth Coalition campaign

SARM is expressing disappointment with an industry-led Sask Growth Coalition campaign.

President Ray Orb says the Coalition campaign, from groups like petroleum producers, is pushing for property tax changes that would shift the tax burden to farm and rural property owners in the province.

He says an open dialogue is important on the issue.

Orb also says rural municipalities have growing concerns with tax arrears and wants stronger enforcement tools on unpaid taxes from oil and gas companies.

Orb says there should be unity between rural municipalities and the petroleum industry in battling federal policies which are undermining oil and gas production.
