A Regina man is facing charges after a stolen auto incident Thursday night. The stolen vehicle is a 1994 Honda Accord, which was reported stolen from the 400 block of St. John Street on Wednesday.
Thursday morning, around 8:35 pm, Regina Police spotted a maroon-coloured Honda, which matched the description of a vehicle stolen the day before. The officer was in the 1900 block of Atkinson Street and watched the vehicle park on nearby Broder Street.
The officer kept the vehicle under observation while other plainsclothes officers came to assist. A spike bel was successfully deployed, resulting in the driver abandoning the vehicle on the 1000 block of Montague Street. The driver fled on foot and was located, a few yards, by a canine team. He was arrested and charged without further incident.
33-year-old Dustin Martin Lyle Morin is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with a condition of release.
Morin was released on an undertaking to appear in court on January 12th.
