The federal Liberals will provide Canadians with a long-awaited update on the health of federal finances Monday afternoon, and potentially unveil a suite of new spending.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland is expected to deliver the fall economic statement after the markets close.
It’s believed it will be a full accounting of pandemic spending so far.
Observers are also keeping a close eye on how much spending space any new promises, like a national child-care system take up.
