Team Canada is off to Halifax after a 6-1 win over Slovakia

 

The 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships can’t come soon enough as the Canadians steamrolled Slovakia 6-1  in Moncton on Wednesday night as Canada picked up their second straight exhibition win.

Colton Dach, Brandt Clarke, Zach Dean, Brennan Othmann, Joshua Roy, and Dylan Guenther all scored in the Canadian victory.

Regina Pats captain Connor Bedard had one assist.

Benjamin Gaudreau made 15 saves for the victory as Canada outshot Slovakia 41-16.

Canada’s shutout streak during the two exhibition games lasted for 102:24 before Slovakia was gifted a goal early in the third period after Shane Wright’s clearing attempt deflected off of Gaudreau and into the Canada’s net.

The final tune up for Canada will take place on Friday when they meet Finland in Halifax.

Canada’s kicks off the World Juniors on Boxing Day when they meet Czechia.
