Plans for Telemiracle 46 unveiled

It will soon be time to “ring those phones” again.

Telemiracle 46 will go in Regina March 5 and 6 with the 20 hour telethon going at Evraz Place instead of the Conexus Arts Centre as it has in the past when the event is held in Regina.

Richard Kies is the executive director of the Kinsmen Foundation of Saskatchewan.  He says Telemiracle has become something that is a part of Saskatchewan.

“I don’t think anyone that has lived in Saskatchewan for a long time or a short time doesn’t know what it means when you say “ring those phones.”.  We have been going for 45 years and the need is always there so we will be hopefully be going for a long time. It’s an event where you see so many step up whether it be businesses, individuals, towns etc etc. It has become a part of who we are as a province.”

The national cast will once again be headlined by Beverly Mahood with others like Jeffery Straker, Jess Moskaluke, Brad Johner and the Sportscage’s own Glen Suitor helping out.

With 5.63 million raised last year, Telemiracle has now raised in its history over 145 million dollars.  All the money raised stays in Saskatchewan as the Foundation provides specialized mobility and medical equipment to people and organizations throughout the province, as well as travel assistance for residents in need of vital medical treatment outside their home community.
